Day 105: May 30th
Ryker did amazing overnight with his adlib feeding. Which is incredible, as they say when they get their vaccines, they tend to be more tired and don’t do as well with feeds.
He is pretty cranky today, and running a low grade temp, but again more likely vaccine related. I’ve been told it’s common for them to be cranky and not themselves for the first 48-72 hours post vaccine.
His team said we can start working towards lowering his oxygen again, and they’ll be swapping his milk fortifier with NeoSure formula, which we’ll be using at home to make sure he tolerates it well and continues to gain wait as needed.
If he does well with the changes, then they said they’ll give the room air challenge a go on Sunday. If he fails, they may give him a few more days to try it again. If he fails again, then they’ll order the pulse ox monitor. Here’s to hoping for a smooth weekend!
