Day 108: June 2nd
I brought up during rounds how Ryker has been throwing up a ton since being switched to NeoSure as his fortifier. I guess the commercial grade fortifier they use in the hospital is hard to get, super expensive, and insurance rarely helps cover the cost. They said they want to monitor him a little bit longer on it, just to see if his stomach gets used to the change, but they will talk to the nutritionists about some possible alternatives..
They also got him down to 75cc’s on his oxygen, and he seems to be tolerating it fairly well. They did give the room air test a try, which consists of them taking him off the oxygen and seeing how long it takes him to drop to the 60% range. They’d prefer it to happen no shorter than 45 minutes.. He dropped in under 5 minutes.. So, they’ll likely be ordering us a pulse ox to take home.. There will be more discussion tomorrow during rounds as far as game plan goes.
He did meet his minimum for feeds as well today. Hoping he does well again tonight!
