Day 126: June 20th

THE WORD IS IN! Discharge is tentatively planned for SUNDAYYY!!!!! They’ve orderd in a take-home pulse-ox which should hopefully be here by this weekend.

He didn’t meet his minimums last night, but a big part of it was that first feed he struggled with last night. The fact that he gained weight though was reassuring to his team though.

I popped in this morning to visit. Ryker had just thrown up post-feed (he doesn’t like his prune juice they’ve been giving him..) So his nurse was cleaning up his bed and had him snuggled in his swing. He got pretty comfy, then his sats started teetering in the mid-80’s.. I sat him up and he burped, which seemed to help for a short time, but then he kept dropping to mid 80’s.. His nurse and I were trying to figure out what his deal was. We swapped his pulse ox sensor from one foot to the other, but it still wasn’t helping much. She finally rolled him on his tummy, where he attempted to crawl away. He then proceeded to rip some incredibly loud farts, and relaxed. His sats started coming back up after that. Ridiculous.. He was good for some time, but then was teetering around the mid-high 80’s for a bit. He once again ripped some big farts and finally had another poo after not having one for over 24 hours. He seemed to feel a fair amount better. He was still sitting around 89% though. We finally decided to give him a new pulse ox sensor, just to cover all options, and his readings finally were coming back in the 90s. I’m glad we had it figured out. Poor gassy kid!
