Day 13: February 27th … 2lbs 15oz

Ryker’s heart rate was still pretty elevated today, hanging around the 200-210bpm. After much discussion amongst the doctors and nurses to determine why he’s so elevated, they decided to give him a dose of morphine. They thought perhaps he was dealing with a fentanyl withdrawal. He was on a really low dose when they weaned him off, but the nurses pitched in saying it was kind of abruptly stopped.

Once he was given the morphine, he became SO relaxed. Even through cares, he just let the nurses do their thing, only to get slightly agitated towards the end of it all. His HR was now hanging around the mid 170’s, which is what it was when he had his good days. Honestly, the poor kid was probably on an adrenaline high, and just couldn’t catch a break. They’ll only give him additional doses if he spiked and becomes super agitated again.

Head ultrasound tomorrow to check in on his brain bleed..
