Day 28: March 14th… 4lbs 1oz .. Head Circumference 28.9cm
Another quiet day today, no real progress… I stayed the night at the hospital last night since the roads were pretty nasty after the storm. The hospital continued to have power flickering in and out throughout the night. Denver was hit pretty hard with electrical outages. Ryker’s vital monitors would go off frequently throughout the evening due to his oxygen saturation drops.. He was dipping down to the 70% range mostly though, and less frequently in the 40’s as he’s done other days. They still aren’t quite sure what is causing it. The docs have planned for a heart echo in the morning to see if perhaps the hole in his heart that he had earlier didn’t completely heal over, as sometimes this can cause respiratory issues. From what I’ve noticed is he gets pretty gunky in his chest with the increased secretions he’s having. His saturation will drop dramatically, but as soon as his nurse suctions him out, is oxygen levels jump back to normal. He is still on his antibiotics for the bacteria that came back positive the other day, so hopefully things will start clearing up soon.
Ryker’s neurosurgeon has stopped by every day since surgery to check on his head progress. He seems quite pleased with everything once again!
