Day 37: March 23
Nick and I went to visit Ryker this morning, while the girls played in the drop in sibling care at the hospital. Nick got his snuggles in! Ryker looked so comfy! We noticed today too that they’ve dressed him in a little onesie! It’s so cute to see him all dressed up!
At rounds, the doctors have decided to see if they can start weaning him off the CPAP machine. He’s been at a pressure of 8, they are going to see how he does with a pressure of 7. They said it’s a marathon, not a sprint, but any progress is good!
The pocket of fluid on his head has grown a bit, but from what I’ve heard, the neurologists are ok with that, as it shows the shunt is still working to release fluid from inside of his brain. Another head ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow to confirm all looks good.
Also, saw the report back from his eye exam. There were no signs of ROP! He’ll have another exam in 3 weeks to make sure nothing develops.
