Day 4: February 18th
Not much of an update today. He’s still rocking a semi-high heart rate, but overall is stable. His blood pressure is still wonky, so he’s been on and off the dopamine to help regulate it. He was having some green spit up, which would come up soon after he’d be given milk. He hasn’t pooped since birth though, and they are thinking he’s just backed up and the milk is mixing with bile.. Poor kiddo! They also realized they weren’t venting his feeding tube in the last few hours, so they’re going to give that a try to see if it helps. Nick is headed home today to be with the girls. He’s been here with me a the hospital since delivery thanks to my brother Will who has been here for the last two weeks helping us with Addi & Zylee! He’s earned some major awesome uncle points!! He said he went 35 years without having to change a diaper, and he’s managed having the girls alone (with a little help from Nick’s parents) the last couple of nights! I seriously don’t know what we’d do without family! <3
Some fun pictures! The size diaper Ryker is wearing (Huggies Micro Preemie). To our surprise, it’s not even the smallest diaper they have! The nurse gave us a few so we can keep it for his baby book.
