Day 59: April 14th
We stopped by to visit Ryker this morning. He’s still having Apnea and Bradycardia events, and his glucose levels are all over the place. As we arrived, his blood oxygen levels dipped down to the 20’s, which is always startling and scary. We felt pocket of fluid on his head, which felt a little softer today than it did the day prior. His head ultrasound report stated that there was once again a small increase in fluid, but not a significant change. They’re trying to figure out what is causing his drops in heart rate and oxygen levels, whether it be head related, or possibly reflux. They are continually monitoring his glucose every 6 hours now to get a better baseline of where he’s at after meals.. the concern is his pancreas is producing more insulin than is needed, causing hypoglycemia (which I tend to have).
His team is going to discuss with neurosurgery about his head status and get their thoughts on what is going on. Hopefully we’ll have more answers in the next day or two.
