Day 71: April 26
He’s made more progress in the feeding department as well. He’s tolerated the 1.5 hour feeds, so they’ve now reduced it to 1 hour long every 3 hours. Ry managed to keep his food down with the new adjustment which is exciting! We’ll take any steps forward we can get!
Ryker is doing ok today. He’s been having a lot of secretions all morning, but this can be common when babies are on the ventilator. He seems to secrete more than normal though when he is on the vent. The plan respiratory wise is to give him another round of diuretic in hopes to clear out the extra fluid build up he’s had in his lungs. They’ll give him one more dose tomorrow, and do another blood gas and chest xray in the morning. If all looks good, they’ll extubate him tomorrow! We’re really hoping all goes well!
