Day 77: May 2nd
They’ve switched him to highflow on 4L of oxygen today! Tori put a request in to his neonatal team to give it a try since she was around and familiar with Ryker and his behaviors. She would know if he would handle it or need to be put back on cpap. He did excellent on the transfer over and Seemed to tolerate the change all afternoon. He was pretty restless all day though.. he was up the whole morning I was there (still on cpap). Finally fell asleep just before they switched him to highflow, and once again was up most of the afternoon. Tori said he’s only take 10 minute cat naps..
I called in and checked in on him this evening, and he’s still handling it well. His nurse Amanda said he’s happy as a clam. He’s still tolerating the highflow really well and seems to be having a chance to rest a bit more this evening.
I’m so proud of our little guy!
