Day 86: May 11th
Ryker took all but 5ml of his bottle this morning for dad. He tired out a lot easier this afternoon. He drank about 15ml’s and then a mild Brady event during his noon feed. Then went I went to feed him at his 6 o’clock feed, and he had a severe Bradycardia event. After some patting and suctioning from his nurse Amanda, she got him breathing again and his heart rate back up.. past memories post op when he had his severe Brady and saturation drops came flashing over me. It was traumatic, but Amanda was quick on her feet but incredibly calm. She reassured us all was ok. It’s a process to get his energy up to take a whole bottle, on top of mastering the breathe suck and swallow technique.
Nick’s parents took the girls this afternoon, so Nick and I could have a night to ourselves. It was really nice to have dinner together without Zylee diffing her fork into one of our plates or having to ask Addi 20 times to sit down and focus on eating. We had an incredible dinner provided by some lovely volunteers at Ronald McDonald house which included salmon, shrimp, ribs as an abundance of yummy sides.
We spent the remainder of the night playing pool and falling asleep before 10:30 like the partiers we are 😝.
