Day 89: May 14th
Z and I drove back to Denver this morning. When we arrived at the hospital, Ryker was getting snuggles from a sweet volunteer. It was nice to see him out of his bed and getting some love. We didn’t stay long as it was lunch time and it was clear that Zylee was hungry. Ran over to Ronald McDonald house and fed us both, then came back to visit. I took Z to drop in, and I went upstairs and yet another volunteer was there to give our little man some love. So I decided to pump and let this sweet grandma enjoy some baby snuggles. 20 minutes later I get a call from downstairs that Zylee crapped her pants. She does this every time! So I ran downstairs to change her, but Zylee was not letting me leave without her… she was tired from only getting a partial morning nap from our drive down. So I brought her back upstairs with me and got to hold Ryker for about 20 minutes before Zylee started losing it.
Overall, no big changes today. They tried to drop him to 40% on his oxygen, but he wasn’t quite ready for that. So he hung around 50% still on 1L of oxygen. Still pretty tired for feeds, but I believe his nurse mentioned he took a couple of bottles. overnight again.
Zylee and I went back to Ronald McDonald for the afternoon to take a nap. Zylee made it up the elevator, then proceeded to army crawl across the floor for about 5’, then laid down and pretended to sleep lol! I got her into her bed and she slept for 3 hours! Apparently she was really tired.
